Processing Teletherapy

This module was created in collaboration with a team of graduate students to update a website for clinicians to learn about teletherapy processing. The original website was created from a grant in the Educational Psychology Department at Texas A&M University.

This module was the end product of a semester long collaboration with a team. We worked on updating the current materials for the client using the ADDIE model. The client wanted to make the material more interactive and effective for learners. It underwent many revisions through feedback from the client, our professor, and other teams.  We applied adult learning theory and e-learning design theories throughout the process.

My role for this project was to align content to interactions and assessments throughout the design process. Our team developed the assessments included in the module with the clients feedback and approval.

Energy In Motion

In the Fall of 2021, I was in a class for Mobile Learning while earning my M.Ed in Learning, Design, and Technology from Texas A&M University. I developed this learning module by going through the design process and collaborating with the SME’s at my place of employment.

This module is intended for 5th grade students learning about food chains and food webs and aligns with Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills standards (TEKS) . The SME’s recommended starting with vocabulary to front load some of the information and then explore how energy moves through the food chain or food web. Each module contains a quiz or knowledge check to monitor learning throughout the learning module. I also include videos and audio to make learning more accessible to different populations. The audio was produced by myself.

Each section includes interactive elements to engage learners and formatively assess throughout the module.

The learning module was tested with 5th grade students at the school in which I work. They were engaged and had the ability to take as much or as little time as they needed to be successful in their learning. The interactive pieces helped them to understand the concept of moving energy in a food web deeper.

The end of the learning module allows learners to apply their knowledge to more inference based questions. This allowed them to extend their thinking about the topic.

The module includes audio produced by myself to give students more accessibility.

Vocabulary knowledge check, allows learners to assess their knowlede of new vocabulary terms.

Sorting activity lets users sort organisms into three categories.

Multiple choice response question allows learners to apply the knowledge they have gained.
